EXPENSIVE for everything, unless we do something abut it soon

Hopefully pretty good. Over the next several decades we'll see more wars, more government oppression, more megacorporations and, at some point, an energy crisis as our oil starts to run out. It will probably be solved by increased use of solar, nuclear and possibly fusion power plants; whether or not we get zero point energy power depends on what kinds of physics breakthroughs we make. Presumably we'll also make some more progress in various technology and science fields. Medical technology will increase our lifespans, biology will give us cheaper food, etc. The United States or China will probably return to the Moon and eventually fly people to Mars (whether or not this will happen on Bush's schedule is up for debate).

The most important developments will be in the field of artificial intelligence. Probably somewhere around 50 years from now, we will probably succeed in designing a program more intelligent than humans. After that, technology will leap ahead as cybernetically enhanced humans operate side-by-side with advanced AIs. It is likely that between them they will solve almost all our current world problems, and build an enormous civilization spanning at least the world and quite likely the whole Solar System. After another couple hundred years, there's really no telling what will be happening.

Technology will escalate to the point where things are invented without being implemented because the speed of progress will be charted as a vertical line on a graph. Then we will work towards a stage of human evolution called "transcendence".

Well...we all know the end...so why not make the best of what you have at hand? In doing so don't waste and damage the present.

We'll walk hand-in-hand toward the sunset and live happily ever after.

Unfortunately, ever won't last very long.
