I'd hate to think that my joy is someone else's sorrow. If I'm happy, everyone I love is happy for me!

it's a personal thing... relating to your life, your needs, your views and your survival!
Bit like faith... that's personal between you and your maker and relevant only to your souls progression. You receive input and revelation relating to your personal life and needs and soul... which is why, when asked, or demanded of, you cannot 'prove' god's existence to another... it's their personal journey, and private between them and their creator.
Good news can only be good from the perspective of personal need!
