The Phantom of the Opera is there.....inside your mind!!
Seen the show bout 5 times - has amazing special effects. Definately recommend anyone to go and see it
Lord Lloyd Webber is a genius!!!
And the movie wasn't bad too considering that Christine was played by 19yr old Emmy Rossum!! She has a fantastic voice.

The stage show is rather quite spectacular and I want to see it again. I could see how all the tricks were done from where I was sitting last time so that removed some of the magic.
The film really didn't impress me though. It looked cheap and the casting was odd. How come Raoul and Mme Giry age at different speeds? And who thought of casting Jennifer Ellison as Meg!? That is the first time I have seen a ballet dancer with a DD chest (it is the first time I have seen Miranda Richardson "outacted" by someones bosom) although Jennifer acted ok. Not impressed by the OG (Gerard Butler), who might have been better as Raoul. And what really bugs me is in the graveyard scene. You can see that the fake smoke is being pumped in from the left-hand side of the screen. Watch the movement in the smoke. The Maskerade scene was quite good though.
They had a really good chance to make this a fab film and to make it look amazing but the lenses they've used on the camera makes the Opera look like a really small space instead of the grand location it could have been. Wasted opportunity.
I saw it in the cinema and wasn't too impressed then so I really don't want to watch it on the small screen. It may seem that I'm overy critical but someone decided to push this out as quickly as possible to get loads of money in, and it shows in the final product. And that's just not good enough for me. As much as I don't want to contribute to Lloyd-Webber's fortune, I'll stick to the stage-version.

Enjoyed the play, but found the music (although VERY good) somewhat repetitive to sustain the entire 2 hours plus. Michael Crawford is extremely good for that role.

The music is great, the plot is okay. The film is quite good but I prefer the stage version although the effects in time changes were clever.

Brilliant, an absolute spectacle! One of my favorite plays/operas. Also, the movie they made was fairly good as well.

The old movie with Claude Rains was
really great !!! I like him... but with that
terrible mask and HIS VOICE he was frightening!!!
I do not like the modern version and the
