I just took a pregnancy test (and my period isn't due for a week, don't ask why I took the test), and just 5 minutes later I have a verrrry vague line, but it isn't really the pink that one would normally see on a preg test. Is it possible that an evaporation line could show up that quickly, or is it a very early positive?

The evaporation line takes longer than 5 minutes to show up. Even a faint line is a positive result. I took the test 7 days before my period was due and the line was so faint I took another one to see if happened again, which it did. Wait a couple more days and take another test. The line should be darker because there will be hormones by then.

When I took my test seven years ago, I only had to wait three minutes. If the line is vague after five minutes, you may want to take another test, as that doesn't sound like a positive result to me. I used EPT and it was very accurate and quick!

It could be a positive, they say that all lines on the test that show up AFTER 10 minutes can be ignored. But you said 5. Take another test

That test wouldn't show any bit of a positive line if you weren't pregnant. You are pregnant. There is HCG there to be detected. 10 bucks says that if you take another one tomorrow the line will be as bright as lipstick.

one line shows up extremely clear almost right away. Thats the one that tells you its working. The second line is the one you look for to determine if you are pregnant. I always went with the failsafe of using the digital one that actually says "pregnant" or "not pregnant"
