I have bought a 4" stilettos high heel for a party on next weekend. I need to walk down a slope to reach the destination. I never wear high heel before and do not plan to change it to other shoe. The slope do not have anything for me to hold when going down and it is more than 200 meter long. How can I walk down this slope with this 4" stilettos high heel?

You sound as though you are determined to master the slope. A slope of this length is challenging to master. To successfully walk down a slope in stilettos and to look graceful and elegant you must take small steps - walk slowly -never ever hurry in stilettos. Place one foot in front of the other in a "catwalk pattern" much like a fashion model on a runway. The heel and toe must come down at the same time. Lean back slightly with your shoulders back - your weight must not be forward this will aid in your balance and will slow down your pace which will keep you safe! If the slope is fairly steep (such as in a theater) you may have to bend your knees slightly to keep from over extending your ankles. If you have a gentleman as an escort, have him place his arm around your waist to assist you. Your escort should be keenly aware of your "glamorous predicament" (slope and stilettos) and must allow you to set a slow leisurely pace, your escort is there to aid in your balance, to protect you and to keep you from harm. ( I find it soo utterly romantic to be assisted by gentleman and completely dependant on him for my every move). If you have time to practice, wear your new shoes to a theater with a sloped floor to get the hang of it. Walking up the slope can be a challenge, as your heels will tend to want to cause you to topple backwards if you come down with heel first. To go up the slope you walk on tip toe with your weight slightly forward. The key is to go slow, and take small steps, once again a very attentive, considerate escort who is happy to assist you is a real help. Good luck and I hope this helps...

First if you do not regularly wear heels I would practice walking in them and wear them for a while so that you can get used to walking in them on flat ground. Walking in high heels on a slope can be hard, is it covered with concrete, grass, rocks, loose sand or dirt? You will have to walk on your tip toes and try not to let your heels sink into the ground. If it is soft grass or something like that I would wear a pair of footies or socks and then take them off when I got near the bottom and out them in my purse or throw them away even. Remember also, what goes down will eventually have to walk back up the hill later, and by then you will be tired and your leg muscles will be sore. Maybe take a pair of cheap flats for the hill and hide them at the party.

Wow, you never wore high heels before and you went right for the 4 inchers? You are brave. Practice walking those shoes and be prepared for sore feet. As a 40 year old high heel lover I suffer sometimes on 4" heels. You need to ask someone to escort you down this slope and be prepared to be off those shoes before nights out. In the mean time, practice practice practice and try and stay in those shoes as long as you plan on being in them that night, because your feet will swell and they will start to hurt.

Just take your shoes off while you walk down the slope. Carry them nonchalantly in one hand, walk confidently, and put them back on when you reach your destination. In fact, I bet once other women see you do it, they will do the same thing.

As long as you act confident, you can get away with almost anything. Besides, you don't want to risk falling down, breaking something, and missing the party.

Keep your weight on the balls of your feet and make sure your shoes have sufficient traction. If they are slick on the bottoms, there are rough rubber pads that you can get at shoe stores that will make them less likely to slip. Also, practice before you go so you will feel more confident. Best of all, if you have a date, hold his arm in case you start to slip so you can regain your balance without falling.

oooh, um, practice before you go so you don't break your ankle. Try walking kind of sideways, like instead of going "heal, toe" put your foot on the slope sideways... that's how i go down stairs in heels

I would wear the shoes, bend your knees a little and take slow cautious steps. If you can bring a friend who won't mind you playfully clutching at their hand or arm. If you can bring a lover and you will look fashionable. Before I have had my boyfriend or sister help me out. Good luck, don't fall:)

if you start off wearing socks just take off the heels and walk. when you get there you can take off the socks and slide the heels back on and all your problems are solved. If the slope is muddy that is a whole different story.

Lean back slightly like the catwalk models do and you'll be fine. Just concentrate on looking ahead and think how long your fabulous shoes are making your legs look! No pain no gain!

I'm guessing you have a date since your going to a classy party so I would suggest holding on to your dates arm like most couples would do when entering a classy party.
