why are we so keen to invite foreign people into the uk when so many of them want too flee troubles in their own country, will this lead to warring factions spilling onto the streets of britain and possibly causing uk citizens to be afraid to walk the streets, we do not always know the real reasons people come here as there is no way of checking their stories, i think we should be worried

Diversity is great and the sooner we're all one the better. However, this Country is paid for by the citizens so at least LIMIT the number of non-UK citizens in the Country.

The ever increasing amount of migrants to the Country is making British people suffer, where people from around the world can get a job, home and car in the UK when 10th generation British people can't. That's undeniably wrong.

Also, they make all this money and send it back to their home Country to buy a massive house and the economy of Britian is dying and house prices soar.

I wonder whether the merchants of London asked the same question in the sixteenth century when there was a influx of migrant workers such Italians, Jewish and Belgium's. I expect so, but of course there weren't then the numbers as there are now coming into the UK.

I have always said that the British and especially the English are the most tolerant race on earth, but now I fear it is time to make those feelings known about the numbers that are coming to these shores.

The UK is going to crumble make no mistake about it, and when it does these intinerant workers will then clear off back home to leave us Brits to pick up the pieces.

Yes i think we do - to staff the NHS for one! To work in Hotels, Fast Food joints, minicab drivers, cleaning the streets etc. Im not bein' nasty but all the jobs us natives dont want to do are being done by foreigners now as its work for them and they get paid a lot more that where they come from and they feel lucky and proud to get a job like that which pays honest money. However its a quick fix for them for how will they buy a house, run a car or support a family on such meagre earnings? Eventually they will become a problem for our state (social security etc). Problem is our society is getting too snob driven for us to care about cleaning jobs etc so more and more foreigners will arrive and so the cycle continues.

Very good point BUT How would you feel if you wanted to work in an other counry, that has troubles, would you want to be blamed for there troubles? We should be careful not to judge all as evil people. And not get confused with evil people who use religion as an excuse to be evil. Most come for a better life, yes some are trouble makers maybe as much as the trouble makers we have in the u.k. Can u blame them wanting a better life.

First of all, all EU citizens have the right of abode in the UK, and in return UK citizens have the right of abode in other EU countries. It is difficult to know the numbers for certain, but it is believed that several hundreds of thousands of UK citizens are currently living in other EU countries.

Because the government doesn't track it, it's difficult to have precise numbers, but it's thought that Britain is actually a net exporter in terms of immigration.

What would the world be like if all nations thought like you and did not allow foreign people into their country's?

I would have not been able to be an aid worker in Romanian orphanages, I would never have had the best year of my life living with an American family in New Jersey, I would have been unable to work in Australia or Canada.

People like you worry me!Have you never been on holiday overseas?

It's a good questions if you do need foreighners or not. I guess my hubby does, so does my son, otherwise I can't see it being feasible for either of them. Foreigh workers wise, those who do the jobs that you are not prepared to do for the peanuts that they are getting? you reckon not? At any rate, I would not walk the streets at night. The wonderful young people are not always so wonderful.

Yes, they do the jobs that most Britons wont do, and in the meantime we boost their countries economy instead of having to give aid. Most immigrant workers are itinerant, they will go home after making more money in a richer country. How many British people do you know that have worked in other countries to make a little money and to see a bit of the world?
