Well it sorta depends if you are talking all of the St. Louis area or just the city itself. The actual city itself is in St. Louis City county. It's its own independent county.The majority of St. Louis however is in St. Louis County, but then you get some of the metropolitan areas which some sorta consider to be a part of St. Louis in Jefferson, Franklin, and St. Charles counties. Then you got the other side of the river into Illinois, which extends to Madison county.

She is right. St. Louis city is NOT in ANY county. Repeat, it's NOT in St. Louis County. St. Louis city is it's own entity.

The counties were developed immediately after the city limits were created preventing any possible expansion of the city. This is most likely why St. Louis is such a small city in size.

C Ras is exactly right. St. Louis City county exists. Check with the State of Missouri, you'll see.

It is not in any county. It is not in "St. Louis County". I live in St. Louis City, and whenever asked which county I live in (like on a form), you have to put "St. Louis City County".
