In hold'em, possiblities for queen jack a caller or losing hand?

Suited, I'd go for it; it certainly could be worth going for the flop regardless; but everything depends on the others at the table and your read on them. If you are small blind and no ones in yet (or limping in), a no-brainer. You have only 2 potential over cards - but that's why they call it "gambling".

It all depends on a lot of factors like how big is your chip stack, and what position are you in, is the table tight or loose, what is your image at the table, has the pot been raised in front of you already, how many players in the pot, what are the blinds at. These are just some of the basic question you have to ask yourself before playing a weak drawing hand like queen jack. Queen jack is a big trap hand in poker, you are just to often crushed by bigger hands like a-q, k-q,k-j,. A lot of times you will hit either no piece of the flop or a jack or single queen leaving you out-kicked by the hands i have just mentioned, and if you flop two pair you are giving an open ended straight draw a shot at his hand. But in general i don't like calling raises with it and i don't like playing it up-front, i like to just limp in if I'm in middle position and if it gets raised then i fold most times. I might raise if i have the button and no callers and the players in the blinds are tight but it is a weak hand for sure. Calling raises is suicide with this hand, i would rather be the one to raise with it then to call a bet.

cant answer without more information...what position are you in? How many players invoved in the pot? limit or no limit? are you loaded or short stacked? Your opponants loose or tight? The questions go on and on...thats why poker is such a cool game..

easy, long term loser if off suit and played upfront,only play in front of or on button and only if suited for ONE BET -do not cold call a raise with this hand
