what the hell are you talking about? the family member has nothing in common with Irwin? A druggie dying of an overdose isn't a shock, anymore. He did more for wildlife and conservation than anyone could have. It's the shock of how he died. A stingray killing him is like a poodle getting a lion tamer. It's unbelievable. And you know what, for people who respect and admire him, it's a shock and a shame that we have to lose such a pivotal character. Don't you think people were shocked and dismayed when Diane Fossey was brutally murdered by poachers in her camp. They were, but you know what? She knew the dangers of what she was doing. The thing is, she believed in what she was doing so much she took the risk... for the good of the wildlife and the world. If you don't mind, I'd like to take my time to mourn a great and respectable individual. We all have the right to do that.

Because he was one of the gr8est zoologs of australia and he showed up to the world like he was invincible by facing crocodiles so open.I got shocked too when i heard about his death. He wasn`t killed by a big deadly animal but by a defense system of a fish which has caused in all these years only three registered deaths in australia including his.It sounds impossible when you think about that gr8 guy with such a passion for life and work. He was a man addicted to adrenaline like noone else the world has ever seen

Ok...you can't compare Steve Irwin's death to your famous relative dying of a drug overdose. I'm sorry but everyone knows if you do drugs...yeah...chances are you're going to die!

We all watched Steve Irwin rangle snakes, crocs, all kinds of wild and crazy animals. The stingray was a total fluke and really bad luck. That's why it is such a shock! Steve was an amazing man! I'm not sure who you're relative is but if he was in 13 movies and 3 tv shows...he was probably a cool guy but he did drugs and he died. I'm sorry for that but that's why drugs are so bad...because they are a known killer.

Everyone expected Steve to be taken down by some crazy croc but that's not the way it happened and that in itself was so shocking.

I don't think his death was a shock as much as HOW he died. He died by a freakish encounter with a sting ray, which are said to be quite timid for the most part............. and to get it's barb in the heart??????????????? NOT very likely. I think most of us expected his last day to be that of being "eaten by a crocodile" or something gruesome like that. While it was inevitable that he was going to go in a tragic way (he even said so), it is still too bad. Especially for his family. I liked the guy and the exuberance he had to offer..... especially in his show(s) which my eldest son loves!!! Crocodile Hunter was considered "free TV" for him!!! He could watch it anytime (unlike cartoons).

Hats off to the "ole bloke"................. he really gave a boost to animal conservation!..God rest his soul.

It's more ironic than shocking because he was killed by a typically less harmful animal and he surrounded himself with such dangerous animals.

Because he was killed by animal considered harmless to humans. There have been less than 20 deaths attributed to stingrays in all of history.

Steve was not a reckless person. He was educated and experienced in dealing with wildlife. While it seemed risky to us, it was not necessarily risky to him.

You have a greater chance of being struck by lightning that being killled by a stingray

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx You ask, then say do no longer answer this form or that? Please forgive me. My innovations could seem as though ill jokes, yet are actually not meant that way. ok, here is going. i hit upon it unusual, I consistently anticipated him to get his face bit off via a croc, sooner or later. you detect getting stabbed interior the middle via a stingray "a soft see you later"? a minimum of it occurred straight away, yet peacefully? "i don't comprehend why his existence became taken away so early." i don't comprehend why you think of how he died incorporates some deeper message. we are able to draw instructions from an unpredicted loss of life. be careful, do no longer positioned off, enjoying existence, expressing, love or doing good. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
