I think 5 years is a perfect age difference. The older child will actually appreciate a sibling, be able to help somewhat, and will be in the public education system so that my can focus on the baby as least part of the day. Physically, 2 year difference is sufficient for the body to recover.

I would have started trying a long time ago. I don't wantmy kids to be 4 years apart.

We're going to start trying around the time my son is a year old.

But, whenever you're mentally and physically ready for a child is when you should start trying again.

First you need to stop and think to see if you and your partner are ready for another, and secondly, i would wait until your little on enow is potty trained, its horrible to have 2 in diapers at the same time! too much to deal with especially with a new born and a hyper 3 yr old. Good Luck!

I feel 5 years is a good time. It gives time to mother to get back in shape and healthy before trying again. So you can try after 4th year.

You can start anytime. It depends on if you want to have 2 in diapers (if your 3 yr old is not toilet trained). The other thing to consider is the child care costs. If you are a stay at home parent, can you handle another child under foot? Another consideration is what your partner feels.

Good Luck!

If you guys are rady for another, I would say start trying now. I think a good age gap between kids is 2-4 years.

It all depends on what kind of relationship you want your kids to have. Do you want your older child to be a babysitter for your younger one and be a second parent? Or would you rather have them be close enough to hang out and be friends? If you want the second I would get started now. Otherwise they probably won't be friends until they are adults, at least that's the experience I have had with my siblings and my friends have too.

We have two kids about 4 years apart - in many ways I wish they were closer in age. Start soon...
