Are Scorpios a difficult sign to date/match up with?
Not that I put a lot of faith into Astrology, but sometimes, just sometimes, it's "advice" is too close to what is happening. I am a Scorpio myself, but I don't have ALL the so-called characteristics pointed out on a horoscope.
I have had difficulty keeping a long term girlfriend.

Positive Factors
Scorpios have good memories and enjoy telling jokes. They are generous and hospitable toward friends, and also make strangers welcome when they call for help or advice. Friends of Scorpios will be treated like family and given every help and consideration. Whenever Scorpio gives a friend advice it will be reliable. A friend can also trust Scorpio never to gossip.
Negative Factors
Scorpios are unlikely to visit friends without making arrangements and having a good reason. Scorpios like others to do the visiting. If they are out when a friend comes to visit, their attitude is that it is the friend's loss and that the friend will have to visit again. Scorpios have an almost psychic insight into the motives and secrets of their friends. Anyone who dislikes someone knowing their secrets should stay away from Scorpios.
What you have to do is to take all your negative traits and turn them into positives that will make you the best person you can be : )

Scorpios and Taurans have an unusual attraction to each other. Interestingly, they are opposites in astrology, which is a GOOD thing (a little reverse in astrology). I think that this combo works best when the male is Scorpio though and the female in Taurus. The other way can have some complications, especially if the Scorpio is not developed as a person.
Scorpio is a water sign and water is usually better off with other water signs (Pisces, Cancer) or earth signs (Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo). Since the placement of the other planets in the chart (Mars, Venus, Moon, etc.) really impact a person, the sun sign is only a starting point...but a good starting point.
One interesting trend that I've noticed is that many Scorpios and Aries get together. Aries is a fire sign and you can just imagine how water and fire can impact each other over time...way too different. However, I think that there is a raw intensity that brings the two together initially.
Some people give Scorpios a bad rap because they are the sign associated with darkness. Yes, they may have some intense areas that they have to personally develop in (all signs do though), but Scorpios are very feeling people with huge potential. They can relate to people (if they don't feel like victims) and they have been known to be awesome parents! (I've seen many.)
Oh, one other thing, Scorpios sometimes do have a hard time keeping a significant other because when they are younger, they tend to constantly "appear" to be looking for an upgrade. Maybe you haven't found the right one yet. Try to look for an Earth or Water girl (still be choosy though). They are often grounded which is soothing to a Scorpio. Don't try to manipulate the relationship which is sometimes a Scorpio tendency...Earth and Water girls don't like to play like that and it can be painful.

Scorpios are very unique, deep feeling, and intense people as a general rule, the best I would say is to try to get someone who understands. I know lots of Scorpios, one of my brothers and one of my sisters and my brother in laws brother are all double scorpios. I am an Aries myself.
The reason you wouldn't have all the characteristics, and maybe some of the ones in other signs, is because we all have the signs and planets somewhere in our charts, some are just more pronounced in certain places than others.
I have a freind who is a Taurus, and She has loved a Scorpio since they were like, 6 years old, but it hasn't worked out yet, although it is starting to get back together. Taurus's are VERY loyal if you can somehow get their trust.
My biggest peice of advice is get someone who genuinely respects you, because I believe that respect in one level or another is what love and stuff is all about, and also I really respect Scorpios. People may not say that a 16 year old female Aries would be likely to respect Scorpios, but they are one of the signs I respect the most highly.
Three words you can always look for in a healthy relationship are: Respect, Honesty, and Trust. Out of those happyness and love blossoms.

I'm a Scorpio too and I know where you are coming from.
I have a very low tolerance for B.S. from men and I don't put up with any crap. As a result, I tend to kick men to the curb a lot.
When I do have long term relationships, I put up with stuff that I don't feel I should have to, and then I start to resent the guy and get pissed at myself for compromising. Then it ends and I feel like I wasted my time, and I get even angrier at myself for allowing some guy to waste my time like that.
Are you doing the breaking up or are they? Are your break-ups always about the same issues?

as others have said, it depends on the whole picture astrology than just one facet (as well as how we were rased)
I haven't had any real long term relationships as of late as usually the kind I like sometimes have issues that get in the way to the point I can't deal with it anymore... typical scorpio will keep at it till it gets to the point it casts it away.. yep just like a normal scorp in the books
Actually what is weird, is my type would scare most men... very intellectual women who also tend sometimes to be beautiful but hide it.. like those who go to college and probably can beat me in a IQ test.. but I find I have the most fun with them as I am not the party animal like my sun sign would have you to beleive...

Find a partner that is under the Cancer sign. I know a couple of Scorpio-Cancer tandem and they get along fine. Btw, im a scorpio myself ----> RED HOT!!!!

i just found out CAPRICORNS go good with scorpios.
but yeah, i'm a capricorn, but i don't exactly have all the qualities and that's good because i'm definitely not a workaholic.
oh another thing, the whole, scorpios are affiliated with darkness thing...don't worry about that. at least there isn't some deadly disease with it like cancer (no offense to any cancers who may read this)

Well im a scorpio and my man is a taurus....we are in love and no horoscope sign can tell us otherwise. been living together for years,,,have our ups and downs like most people but are very much in love,

Scorpio's are compatible with Cancers and Pisces....... The other water signs. They somehow all understand each other.
