If I could afford to spend all I wanted? I'm not certain but for a watch I wouldn't mind spending a good amount of money. My reasoning is because a watch or any time-piece can be a family heirloom. Something always useful no matter what generation - a very nice thing to hand down through the generations. So yes, I'd spend a chunk of money on a watch if I so wanted and had the money to do so - thousands even. I'd get it insured, wear it and enjoy it..and save it for a grandchild or great-granchild someday.

I might spend about £200 on a good digital watch. But I would not spend on something like a rolex - even if I had the money - because it would attract attention from thieves. I heard stories of people being followed home and robbed of their jewellery

Wise words from a wise man. I too would only spend 25.00 or less on such a mundane accessory as a watch. In fact, all accessories are mundane! But for now since I have priorities as a college student I need one- At least until I retire and no longer have any priorities?

Personally, $0 because I like my cell phone's always accurate clock. But, many business people wear a watch as a status symbol & take that very seriously - a guy in a suit with a Rolex gets top attention when he walks in a department store! So, it depends on your priorites & lifestyle.

Depends on work, casual or dressy. $50-to unlimited. You aren't going to wear a Movado to the beach are you? I use to have just one watch. Then I had about 4. Varying in price, style and practibility.
