I read some where that the towers were designed to survive an impact from a plane that size. I also just recently heard of a conspiracy theory that the floors that were hit were vacated a few days prior by cia or something like that. Some of the terrorists who supposedly got on the plane were found several days later in the middle east.

come on. there are so many stories. does it really matter. 9/11 happened-we can't change it now. if we could we would bring back all the loved ones who perished. imagine all the babies (dad's mostly) who lost a parent, who died that day. have you looked at how many pregnant women their were. firefighters-they do this all day everyday. but there was absolutley no reason to kill thousands of innocent people. they have po'd america now and they will pay the price for a long time to come. look after how many years we finally caught sadam. bin laden is next-if he is still alive. then we have to contend with all the other ******* over there. all we need to do is tell them if you want out get out in 48 hrs if not we will make your country a desert again.
end of story.

None of the buildings built prior to 2001 were built to withstand an impact of a plane that size. There's just no way. And it was never a scenario even considered like this.

And the people in those buildings were reduced to liquids from the pressure of all those floors, and the dust created by the concrete soaked up everything. One of the firefighters on the video 9/11 said in all the time they searched, they didn't find any pieces of the office equipment bigger than half a telephone number pad. It was all just smashed, demolished.

They collapsed because the initial impact destroyed the fire retardent on the structure of those floors(like how an earthquake can make dust come off shelves) and the fire, so intense with jet fuel, weakened the metal even further. As the floor dropped onto the one beneath, that one dropped due to the weight and kept thumping down, faster and harder.

The buildings were designed to withstand an earthquake, not a direct hit from a fully-fueled 747. Because of the way the buildings were more or less suspended amongst their girders, the intense heat melted the supports and it caved in on itself. Any other stupid conspiracy theories?

I beieve it was the impact of the planes that destroyed our lives that day. Even building can only take so much before they fall and the planes did the job. What an often day that was, I was so upset at those men, and for all the families who had to go though that terrible day.

Didn't you see those friggin big planes fly into the buildings. The buildings did handle the direct impact.

Get a clue, study some engineering and structure..

The jet fuel burned at a higher temperature than the steel girders could handle, thus causing the collapse.

It was actually designed to be hit by the next major generation smaller the 707 on a inbound flight (less fuel not full tanks) both jets were full of fuel for long flights and they just took off. It was actually the heat from the fuel fire that made them buckle not the crash itself.

accually the gurders didnt break, they did what they they were supposed to do, however they bowed and pulled the concrete pillars in about five feet and when the concrete finaly gave way the building collapsed

nova had a documentary on this the other day, if you go to pbs.nova.org they might have more info on this subject

They were desinged for an empty 707 hitting them. Not a fuel laden 767 or 757. That part is true. The rest is BULLSHIT.
