That would be like blaming Andrew Jackson for the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Because everyone knows that the Japanese weren't sneaking around and blowing things up until Hoover was president.

And besides, no one even knew about bin Laden in 1999. Maybe, like, three people. It's possible that he didn't even exist until Bush made him mad about the stolen election.

Remember, 9/11 happened when Bush was president. That was eight months into his presidency, and by then he'd already had his cabinet assembled for something like two months. But that's only because the election was stolen and Gore made a valient effort to stop him.

You must not be aware of the bombing of the WTC in 1994 - an act that Osama Bin Laden took "credit" for. The Clinton administration had 7 years advance notice of Bin Laden's intentions but ignored it completely. Now having said that, there is enough blame to go around for both administrations. Nothing happens in a vacuum and Clinton's ineffective intelligence gathering system continued on into Bush's first 8 months (remember that was how long he was president before 9/11) as president. When you understand how slowly politics actually works, you would realize that in 8 months most presidents are still learning the job. Besides, blame assessment is mainly a political misdirection when aimed at current and former US govt officials. The real blame lies with those who planned and executed 9/11.

This is something recent from Liberals. First, they pushed the lie that the Bush administration claimed Iraq had something to do 9/11. Now they're pushing the lie that 'people' are blaming Clinton for 9/11. Both are wrong. I've heard Republicans criticizing Clinton for not doing enough against terror and for not getting Bin Laden when he had the chance, but never blaming him for 9/11. Republicans put the blame for that event squarely where it belongs: with the terrorists.

As for your statement about Bin Laden. His name has been floating around since the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, if not before. And why would he care about a U.S. election? That's a ridiculous statement.

The election was NOT stolen. Although, Gore did try to steal it.

Well Clinton can't be entirely let off the hook, he was President when they Bombed the US embassy in Africa. That was Bin Laden & Co. They were planning 9/11 for years. Watch "Triple Agent" on National Geographic, it tells how stupid our entire government (Clinton & Bush) was to terrorism. They both saw it as an international problem and never really planned for it or believed it would happen to the US.
Honestly, both are to blame for 9/11. Everything since 9/11 can be put squarely on one individual. And to those who think we had to go to war with Iraq because of 9/11, I'm sorry it was just used as an excuse to go fight that guy who tried to assassinate his father and Mr. Oil Company stooge wanted future control of the available oil reserves before Iraq and OPEC cut us out.

Vote Independent, Both parties are to blame..

Clinton's administration knew a lot about Bin Laden. They say that they discussed him daily. Bin Laden was responsible for the bombing of the US embassies in Africa, the bombing of the USS Cole, and openly declared war on the US all during Clinton's administration. At one time the Sudanese government had Bin Laden and tried to pass him to US custody. Bill Clintons says he couldn't take Bin Laden at the time because, "he was a political hot potato". Conservatives have long been accusing the Clinton administration as failing to deal with Bin Laden when he had the chance.

Hmm - let's recall some facts.
1. Feb 1993 - WTC bombing - Clinton's Watch.
2. Oct 1993 - Mogadishu - Clinton's Watch.
3. Jun 1996 - Khobar Towers Dhahran, SA - Clinton's Watch.
4. Aug 1998 - US Embassies in Kenya & Tanzania - Clinton's Watch.
5. Oct. 2000 - USS Cole Aden, Yemen - Clinton's Watch.

Let's think about this 5 attacks in 8 years and Clinton's response - Nothing, be happy, get a bj & invite the biggest Palenstinian Terrorist (Arafat) to the White House.

Yes your are absolutely right - Clinton has no responsiblity for anything that lead to 911.

All of your lies, assumptions, and fact less rantings above taken into consideration- who do you BLAME for the Pearl Harbor bombing? You sure demonstrate your knowledge of Bin Laden in 1999. It has been factually recorded that B J Bill knew of Bin Laden then. You say the election was stolen. NO- Al Gore and his conspirators ATTEMPTED to steal it with their hanging tabs and vote counts. Had Al Gore been president when 9-11 happened, I dare say he would have wanted to get the UN and have talks with Bin Laden to appease the renegade. He would have looked after our interests about as well as B J Bill did.

Good Lord wake up. FIrst off they hit the WTC and all he did was shoot a few missles at some obscure locations that did nothing and he did have a chance to catch Bin Laden and did not. These morons take there time for attacks, 9-11 was planned out by them when clinton was in office.

Here is the problem, both sides are at fault not just one. Clinton and his boys did not take them seriously and they became a bigger problem. Then you get cowboy and his boys in office now and Laden still running around and he decides to go into Iraq and forgot that we are looking for a man who is responsible for killing thousands of people
the whole thing is a *** shame.

Oh gee and Iquess the Kobar Towers being blown up and the USS Cole been attacked and 17 sailors killed didn't happen during Clinton's presidency did they? Oh and OSAMA claimed responsibility for both of those attacks and what did you icon of virtue and righteousness do other tthan try to cover his *** for fooling around with interns? He bloww up an aspirin factory. Well that thought Al Quaeda not to mess with us didn't it? Clinton had at least 3 chances to capture or kill Osama but declined because they were afraid to look bad politically thay wrer afraid they would violate the rights of a man who had openly declared war on us in the 1990's and sucessfully attacked us at least 3to 4 times and got away with it because Clinton was to busy telling you he never not once had sexual relations with that woman, and trying to figure out what the meaning of is, is. And how long was Bush in office before 9-11 happened a few months. That's like you being blamed for burning the rice when your mom left the flame on high and forgot it before you got home.

You need to do better research before you write this stuff. I am not blaming Clinton for anything, but bin Laden was well known during the Clinton presidency. Al Quida blew up US embassies during Clinton's administration. You may also remember (or maybe not) that Clinton ordered a very large Tomahawk cruise missile strike on several targets in Afghanistan to take out terrorist training camps and alleged weapons factories. These were interned to try and take out bin Ladin and his forces in Afghanistan. Next time try learning about history instead of rewriting it.

Conservatives wish so badly that 9/11 had happened on Clinton's watch, then there emperor George would( supposedly) have a blemish free Presidency. But alas, that will never be the case. Truth be told, both Clinton and Bush share responsibility for what happened on 9/11. The fact that the conservatives harp on 9./11 being all Clinton's fault just really shows America how much they want to cover up there own screw ups concerning that day.
