I am so sick of this, I want everyone to know that there are other options besides wasting their money at the campus bookstore, I wish I could just slap these fools for being so stupid or lazy. I see all of these drones lined up waiting to spend five times what they could buy the same book for online and then even worse- they return when classes are done and sell the same books back for pennies on the dollar. What the heck is wrong with college students??? I have been in college a shore tiem and allready buy my books online, I use Textbook411.com http://www.textbook411.com to search all of the online stores for the best price, then I buy the cheapest book, new or used I dont realy care if it saves me money. Sometimes its on amazon, sometimes half.com http://www.half.com , and even wallmart.com ..... maybe I care more because its my own money, not my parents .... but still.... It jsut makes me sick to see students waste money.

I think you already have your answer. It is their parents money and they don't really care about saving it. I have a nephew who is now getting his doctorate. He has been ordering from online as long as I can remember.

More to the point, why can't the campus bookstore sell things a little cheaper. They don't need to make a big profit.

Don't blame the students! Blame the system the curriculum and the publishers. Buying used book is fine and dandy, but if it is a different edition than the one required for that class, it make it a lot harder and time consuming to follow. I know it's frustrating. My daughter bought a used calculus book and because the edition differed from the requirements, she had to buy a new book. It is dreadfully expensive. If you are so concerned about students standing in line like drones, why don't you tell them about your find. Buying on line usually require a credit card number, how many college students do you know have a credit card?

Yes because all college students have parents that can afford to pay for college. That rationale is ridiculous and I'm surprised some of you are in college after a statement like that! You'd honestly be suprised how many students are doing this on their own. Get over the us against them mentality, there are more important things in life to care about. Everytime I've tried to look for a book on any of those sites I haven't been able to find the one I need. I agree with Alta. If you think its so great then share it with others instead of whinning about why people don't look there.
