I would think they would either come to your house to repossess them or take you to court

Likely there is a contract that stipulates the return of the items.
So the renter would be subject to criminal charges and civil penalties.

You will pay one way or another through the court system. They will get the merchandise back and you will be stuck with court and legal fees.
