A massage is one of the best presents you can give yourself (or somebody else, for that matter!). It works to balance on all levels -- mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. Regular massages are one of the best ways of clearing the lymph system, in particular.

If you're planning on getting weekly or bi-weekly massages (I do every week), mix the routine up a bit. Do a relaxation massage, then a hot stone, then a raindrop, etc. Each different type of massage has it's own particular benefits.

Absolutely !! It increases your circulation which heals the muscles. When you get a massage the stretching and massaging increases blood and oxygen to the area which helps relax and heal the tissues. Also gets all the toxins out of your body, which aid in healing too. As far as relaxation thats an excellent remedy !!

I don't know what it can do for a healthy person, but I can see it being beneficial. I DO know what it can do for someone with muscle pain. I can get almost total relief from shoulder and neck pain with regular massages. Even the shoulder and neck exercises do not work as well as the massage.

Yes, it increases circulation and oxygen to the tissues, promotes relaxation and a feeling of well being. Plus, when you get one, the masseuse is checking your skin, which is your largest organ, and if they see anything out of the ordinary, they will tell you.
