Please tell me what is the difference (if any) between singular and plural when referring to a location suffix?

For example there is Street (ST), but also Streets (STS).

Garden (GDN), but also Gardens (GDNS)
Island (IS) and Islands (ISS) and so on ...

I am only interested in the distinction between the singular and plural form (singular seems more common, but many abbreviations also have the plural).

Plurals may be used in descriptive ways but are not accepted as official USPS terminology.

I've never in my life seen plural of street. IN what case would you ever live on "Streets"? Your address belongs on one street. ...so that doesn't make sense.

Garden & Island I've never heard of either-- must be a regional thing. We've only got:

CT (Court)
ST (street)
AVE (Ave)
LP (Loop)
WAY
LANE
....
That's all I can think of...and none of those are plural.
