"Dance Me to the End of Love" was my wife and my first dance at our wedding reception last year, that will always be OUR song.
MY song is "Dress Rehearsal Rag", about a man considering suicide, who doesn't do it. I was there when I first heard the song, thirty-something years ago.
There's always a glimmer of hope in Cohen's work. He writes beautifully about the lows in life, but he kept hanging in there. That gave me hope; I've suffered from depression almost my whole adult life.
