I saw from a post on a forum in news.bbc.co.uk that America protects IRA members, and doesn't consider them terrorists. Is this true?

yes a lot of the money financing the IRA came form AMERICA from a organization known as NORAID since the terrorism AMERICA the government has come out against it but it still has many supporters in AMERICA who believe in the cause. just not as open as it used to be there.

Actually I'm not sure but there is a tendency to think of terrorists only as Middle Eastern here in the states...
