In My Life
Words & Music by John Lennon/Paul McCartney
There are places I remember
In my life, though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends
I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
there is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I'll love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I'll love you more
In my life I'll love you more

Impossible to pick one. I like Maxwell's Silver Hammer at the moment.
The 1 album is a pretty good compilation.

It would have to be "In My Life" because it is always the first to come to mind when this question is asked.
Mind you though, I am a huge Beatles fan, and think EVERYTHING they did is just simply outstanding.
So, I guess that makes my chosen song even more special.

Yesterday because it is one of the most beautiful songs ever written from one musician to another; nobody rocks like the Beatles.

Across the Universe.
I first heard it on a car trip when I was very young and it was just released. It was raining and I was incredibly bored. I had my first moment of global awareness and realized it all wasn't about me.
Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,
They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind,
Possessing and caressing me.
Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.
Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes,
That call me on and on across the universe,
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box they
Tumble blindly as they make their way
Across the universe
Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.
Sounds of laughter shades of earth are ringing
Through my open views inviting and inciting me
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a
million suns, it calls me on and on
Across the universe
Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.

I had a favorite as a teenager.
"She's leaving home"
The lyrics were haunting to me. And I was a die-hard Beatles fan back then. Listened to all of their stuff.
