well i think it depends on what you want to use it for. c# is good with asp for doing websites and client/server type applications. but vb.net is good for other applications. you can use vb.net with microsoft word and excel.

Both compiles to CLR, but C# has a programming model closer to what CLR itself uses. So clearly C#
