We all have good and bad days. Sometimes, I say things that i truly do NOT mean and then I feel bad afterwards. I usually can go the person and apologize; however, I find it more IMPORTANT to show THROUGH MY ACTIONS the sincerity of what I am saying.

your story is so pleasant to read, thank-you, actions do speak more than words, bless your heart, there is a ray of sunshine out there, and your a part of it, yes, my biggest fear, is the person not accepting my apology

That's called making living amends, and that's my husband's way of apologizing. Me, I need to hear the words too LOL! I apologize and have no problem with it, but like you I also work very hard to not have to say I'm sorry again (at least not for the same infraction)!

I find it important especially to apologize to my children if I'm out of line. Just because I'm having a bad day doesn't mean it's ok for me to be grumpy with them or snap at them for small things, and I let them know that. I think teaching that it's o.k. to apologize is very important - it breeds the idea that it's o.k. to humble yourself to another after you've done wrong - and it also breeds the idea that forgiveness is a wonderful thing. After all, if they learn that by apologizing, they are absolved by the person they apologized to, they'll understand that it's the right thing to do to forgive those who have harmed them.

I think its more important to be aware of what you said and not to keep doing it as people will stop forgiving if it keeps happening and i have dropped friends for exactly that reason

usually no, i have learned to think before i speak. i have a tendency to put my foot in my mouth. but if i do, and when i do, i will apologize. the problem usually is that people do not forgive

its hard for me and my boyfriend to say were sory although i always am if i said something hurtful, but i think its because he finds it impossible to say hes sory, he would much rather find a way out by claiming i caused him to act or say something mean.
