The fact that you have called the police five times and they likely have talked to him a number of time seems to indicate that your landlord may have more issues than feeling he is out unpaid rent.

It somehow feels and sounds like your landlord may have some medical issues and may need some medical attention.

So talking to him and or the police may not be the answer, even a restraining order is not likely going to do something, if there is a medical issue at hand.

See if you can contact family members of the land lord offer to call them everytime he shows up and just to be on the safe side let the police know that is what you are doing.

In addition, make copies of the reciepts you have and forward them to the family emembers of the landlord.

From now on, I would not engage the landlord, write down anything that has happened and has been discussed and keep lots of notes, you never know if you need it later.

Your local residential tenancy branch for the province should be able to mediate in the issue and are often very helpfull in resolving issues before they become real problems.

Good Luck

In the USA you could petition the courts for a restraining order against someone. Maybe there is something like that in Canada?

Go to Clerk of Court and get a restraining order against this person. He will have to be served papers and will get the idea loud and clear.

Ask the RCMP if there is a stalking law. There should be something you can do about that *******. BTW make copies of all the paper work concerning your former residence.
