We are forgetting the fact that we are immigrants too.

No. I am not an Immigrant. My parents are not an neither were my grandparents.
We were born in this country, in the United States of America.

Now, if you wish to exercise the arguement further. I suppose I could go to Ireland and demand they allow me to live there because I have a great, great, great grandfather who came from there.

The illogic the illegals are using is that, since they had some ancestoral lineage to the western hemisphere, they automatically should be allowed to live here. If you carry THAT logic forward, why aren't they invading Brazil, Chile and Canada? They're all just a bunch of immigrants, right?

Worst case? We claim squatters rights.

It's not legal immigrants that people have a problem with, it's the 10-12 million illegal immigrants in this country.

Illegal immigrants already start off committing a crime and it just gets worse than there. One boarder town next to Mexico saw a 30% decrease in major crimes after a boarder sweep.

They cause a monitary drain on the government. It's costs a net loss of $10 billion in California each year (medical, prisons and education). They are not pulling their fair share since their costs outweight their contributions.

The average U.S. American worker hasn't seen a real pay increase that beat inflation in over 10 years. In the 1960s my dad was making $30,000 a year as an electrician when houses were $17,000 each. Now electricians make about $60,000 a year if they are lucky and the same house cost $600,000. The idea that illegal immigrants take jobs Americans don't want isn't true. They cut construction job pay in half, which was in the mid $20 range. worked as mechanics and a host of over $20 an hour jobs by working for far less.

Many Americans are native to this country, although our forefathers were immigrants. Every generation have had issues with new immigrant group. In the mid 1800s, Congress actually passed a law restricting a particular racial group. It was called the Chinese Exclusion Act. It's not a new issue.
However, immigration issue has been heightened since 9/11 when the terrorists were discovered to be illegals. People automatically classified all new immigrants as potential terrorists or "freeloaders", or a reminder of our careless policy regarding our borders and enforcing VISA stays/exits.
Then again, EVERY country have anti-immigration sentiments to some extent. You might say that it is a human condition.
Without new immigrants (legals), our Social Security system would fail especially when the babyboomers retire. We simply do not produce enough children to support the retirement system. Japan's pension plan is already endanger of collapsing since they don't have many kids now and there's very little immigration.

The Americans are not bothered about the immigrants. They are bothered about the ILLEGAL immigrants. I find that it is so easy for the illegal immigrant sympathizers to conveniently drop the word "Illegal" in their protest statements and make the rest of the Americans look bad.

We don't like ILLEGAL immigrants. We are all immigrants in some way, even "Native Americans" are to. But, were you born in the US? If you are this disqualifies you to be an immigrant. We are all "Native Americans" because we were born here. We are not immigrants, (unless you were born in a different country.) Our ancestors were immigrants, so WE could be native! Our ancestors (I assume) came legally.

they are definitely not a scapegoat. I doubt Americans really care how many jobs immigrants are taking. When illegal immigrants go to hospitals and put their children in school, while not paying taxes for such things, Americans have a problem. I personally feel that it is unfair for someone (to put it harshly) to use me and my tax dollars. If you want a piece of the "american dream" you should be ready to pay for it.

NO!! YOU are wrong!! WE are not IMMIGRANTS!! WE are native Amercan citizens. (Some of our ancestors are indigenous to this country, the Native American ..Indians). OUR ancestors came here BEFORE there were laws on immigration. THEY are the ones who PASSED the laws on immigration and many other laws to build this country into what it is today.Immigrants who came later came through Ellis Island LEGALLY, were proud to be here, kissed the ground, thankful they made it, were glad to learn English, assimilate into American society, proudly wave the AMERICAN flag, our Stars & Stripes!!

Americans have NO problems with IMMIGRANTS!! Our outrage is with ILLEGAL immigrants who slither into our country without any legal procedures, no documentation, no health screenings(some have dangerous, incurable diseases), take very low wage jobs that otherwise would have paid a higher wage to an American (causing our wages to plummet), using OUR taxpaid federal assistance programs to supplement their low wages, getting food stamps, welfare checks, free medical and subsidized housing, all off the taxes AMERICANS PAY!! Some of our homeless and poor slip through the cracks and cannot get what those people are getting!! Some of our elderly cannot get medicine THEY need and we should be taking care of THEM, NOT people who are here ILLEGALLY. The word "illegal" has a definition, it means "AGAINST THE LAW, UNLAWFUL, CRIMINAL". ~~People tend to ignore that word when it is attached to 'immigrant'. NO one FORGETS they come from IMMIGRANTS!! WE did not come from "ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS" OR ILLEGAL INVADERS!!

Dont think people are worried much about the Legal immigrants..it's the Illegal one's that they are worried..and we have a lot of them ( in millions) they take away jobs from the citizens (not all the jobs the illegal have are dirty - a lot can be high paying jobs too)

Plus they dont pay income taxes (which we all need to run schools, fund our health system etc)

and now Im hearing they are protesting they want financial aid
for schools! can you believe this?

Funny, like any of the american will do the work that those illegal immigrants will do. Even funnier, blaming on those immigrants rather than blaming on people who continuously hiring them to be custodian, fruit pickers, mining labors.

Why don't you go take over those works then we can talk?

By the way, (white) American doesn't need this issue to make them look bad LOL, there are plenty of other stuff as well...
