If this is your first pregnancy it is possible. Have you felt any flutters? I know it takes a little longer with your first baby before you feel anything. I would give it a few more weeks and then I'm sure you will feel little kicks. There should be an emergency number to call since your doc is on vacation. Usually they have an answering service and then they page the doctor and he/she will call you back.

It is very possible that you have felt the baby move but not quite know what it was. About 20-22weeks is about the time you feel the first movements. Especially, if this is your first child. Maybe your weeks are miscalculated and your not as far along as you thought or it could be just the position the baby is in. Not to be mean but heavier people may feel the movements a little later. I would suggest lay on your back for an hour or so and maybe put some soft music to your belly. If by the end of the week you still haven't felt anything then call your doc. But, it's probably just the position of your baby. Everything will be fine!

Every women is different, and every pregnancy you have will be different. With that in mind; after the 20th week most women begin to feel the baby move, some sooner- some later. It is possible that the baby has moved, but you just did not know that that is what it was, You may of thought that it was "gas" or tummy fluttering.
Heavier women do have a harder time feeling the baby move, also women who have poor muscle tone in the abdomen.

Things to do:
Remember to have good "prenatal care"!
If you have any concerns, call your OBGYN and ask if you can go in to have the baby checked.
If you think the baby has not moved, go to the nearest Maternity ward and have them check the babies heart beat!

Never take a chance with the baby!
Love that baby no matter what! You will have good times and bad ones too. Do not forget to Include God in it!

Have a good Labor and Delivery.

If this is your first baby, it's very common not to feel them. You may not know what to look for. Also if you have really good tummy muscles it's harder as well. Also, your dates can be off by a week or so. This is what you should do:
1) empty your bladder
2) go eat something sweat, or eat a meal
3) go lie down on your left side
4) wait 15-30 minutes, see if you feel any little flutters, like a little nudge, gas bubble, anything like that, at this point, the baby movement would still be very subtle, hard to detect
5) the baby tend to move after you eat, and when you are resting
6) if you still don't feel anything, and are very concerned, do not go to ER, go to Labor & Delivery, they have baby monitors there to check your baby

Call the OB's office, he cant just leave his office without having some doctor or nurses cover for him.

If he did just up and leave without providing his patients another professional to contact, then you need to get a new doctor.

They need to get you in for an ultrasound just to make sure its YOU that isnt registering, and not the baby's actual lack of movement. Generally by 20 weeks even first time and heavy women feel some sort of flutters or movements. most women by 16 weeks.

If you can get ahold of any OB's office, go on down to the ER and just tell them you havent felt the baby move, they can probably get you right in for an ultrasound.

by 23 weeks you should have had your first ultrasound by now.. usually by 18-20 weeks... to check for spinal issues and heart development. Did they have you in for that yet? Was the baby moving in that ultrasound?

It is possible that you're just not feeling it move. But you'd rest better with some professional attention.

Sometimes the movement is so subtle that you don't realize it. (it may feel like gas...or when your food digests and it feels like bubbles) Each woman, and pregnancy is different. If you are worried, call the on-call doctor. She might be able to squeeze you in and listen for the fetal heartbeat. If you have any bleeding, or something just "doesn't feel right", go to the emergency dept.

If this is your first you might not recognize what it feels like. But you should be feeling the baby by now. It feels as if something is rolling or gas. I think you have been feeling it just don't know it yet. Congratulations!!! The one aswer is true, when you eat something sweet it usually makes the baby move.

Pregnancy varies from women to women. But you should be feeling your baby move by now. Try drinking a coke to see if he/she will move. If not call your doctors office and ask if the on call doctor will see you. (there is should always be on call doctor) If not go to the emergency room.
