I would be willing to have it be a day of National Reflection. I was unaware of Patriot's Day, and will be going to learn more right after I finish this up. I would also be willing to go ahead and make it a National Holiday if everyone would quit talking about it. As unpopular as it may sound, I'm tired of hearing about it. I'm sick of the widows, I'm sick of everyone calling those who died heros. Your not a hero because you go to work, and the cops and firemen, your not heros, you went to work. The heros that day were the cops and firemen that went into that building to save people and knew they probably wouldn't be coming back. Everytime we call someone a hero that isn't, we cheapen the sacrifice of those that really did give their all to save others. I'm also not saying the guys up their didn't do a great job in a horrible situation, but it doesn't make them all heros. Let's just go randomly drop bombs on France or something for 9/11.

A day of remembrance maybe, but not a holiday.
I could see the holiday cards now, "Happy 9/11 Day". No one wants to celebrate that so many good Americans died.

It's already Patriot's Day. I don't think it should be a National Holiday. I think we should just use the Patriot's Day and each of us reflect in our own way of what happened on that day.

Absolutely yes! It rocked our world as we knew it and devastated the lives of so many, even those who weren't directly connected in any way with anyone who died that day were so deeply saddened. I think it's an insult that it hasn't become a national holiday yet.

Yes, it should be a National Holiday. We should pay our respects to the people who gave their lives to save others and for all the innocent people who tragically left this world and left behind so many families in mourning for life.

Not really, no. What would you want to celebrate a day like that for? Really it doesn't hurt to do memorials that day. But why miss a day of work and school to remember such chaos when there is nothing good out of that event?

We are so obsessed with memorializing the dead that eventually all land on earth will be "hallowed ground" and every day of the year will be a "day of remembrance."
If something is really worth remembering, it needs no official recognition.

I do-I think that 9/11 is an event that should be remembered every year and memorialized. That is the day that we Americans realized that we are not invulnerable to terrorist activities. In one sense it is the day many of us lost our innocence.

Sure. I think it was the beginning of somethin' that turned global, basically, and a lot of lives were lost. We've made 50,000 movies about it, why not make it a holiday?
