When you are in labor you will have extreme cramping in the lower abdomen. You will feel lots of pressure and when you have to push you will feel like you are going #2. There will be some burning down below as well. Don't be nervous. It feels good to push. All those labor pains go away and all you feel is pressure and the urge to push more. It's so exciting! My husband and I have five and we loved that moment! I went natural with all, but my first. It's much better without an epidural. Good luck!

IT HURTS EVERYWHERE! Back, down there. Yup it does not feel all that great. Some woman tear down there, that frickin hurts! and you know it when it happens. every woman is diffeent some are easy and some have a reallyhard time, in labor for hours. mine was easy, the best thing to do is dont let everyone elses stories scare you, no labor is the same. and dont watch the TV show maternity ward. that scared the crap out of me. Good Luck!

I had both of my babies natural without pain meds. ( not by choice, both times they said I was to far along to give me anything ) and I'm not going to lie to you, it hurts. Your belly will feel like menstrual cramps to the extreme, but down there it was more mad crazy pressure than pain. You can't let yourself worry about the pain or you'll drive yourself crazy. I'm a baby when it comes to pain, "pain hurts" and I don't like it. once that beautiful baby is in your arms the pain is gone. If the pain was that bad I wouldn't be looking forward to having number 3 . So take a breath and relax, you'll do just fine.

during labor the pain is in your stomach and sometimes in your back. cramping like a bad menstrual cycle. when delivering the pain in your vagina is more of a stinging or burning feeling since the skin is stretching. it hurts, but only while delivering after it's not bad at all. if it was horrible i wouldn't have four children all were big babies. good luck and don't worry.

yes it hurts down there.....because you are pushing a head out of a small hole....yes your cervix does dilate to 10 cm before you start pushing, but then the head and the baby has to come out the rest of the way through the birth canal. Just imagine a melon coming through a 10 cm hole......would it hurt...of course.....but there are drugs that will you you to not feel it.....but that always wears off after the birth....but you always forget about the pain when you are holding the baby in your arms.

the pain is mostly in your tommy and your waist like the grand mother of menstrual cramps.but when the baby is coming out you feel the pain down there.all this is if you give birth through the natural method like we do down here in Africa.

I didn't have an epidural with my daughter.

The only time I had vaginal pain, really, was when I had to stop pushing so that they could suction her nose and mouth. It was a painful burning sensation, but it was over very quickly.

Well, I had the epidural, so after that kicked in, I couldn't feel anything. But before that, it was just like almost unbearable menstrual cramps.
