I'm doing a 'character bag' for To Kill a Mockingbird. In a decorated bag, I have to represent the character of my choice(Atticus) with objects. I'm looking for a good symbol to represent that Atticus wants justice and fairness. Please, something other than a gavel or a scale. Thanks in advance. =)

Justice implies that there was a bad deed done like in the book A Time to Kill. Atticus never did anything wrong so are you showing something that represents why he was incarcerate to begin with...prejudice and ignorance? For that you can use a flowering cactus with Atticus being the flower surrounded by hard, angry thorns who were coming against him only because he was different.

Atticus is the epitome of these qualities which signify the dignity, spirit, and morality of man. To kill a mockingbird is in essence to eradicate free spirit and destroy pure joy, which is the greatest sin of all.
