Has anyone else noticed how the TV channels with adverts turn the volume up during ad breaks!

I dont believe SKY channels should have so many adverts. There should be a cap put on them. After all we pay a subscription which is more than the BBC. SKY could provide TV without ads im sure but as someone said they are in it for the money. Thats capitalism baby and it SUCKS (no where are the keys to the Porsche!)

because it is a commercial organisation AND wait for it shows are designed for advert breaks...it also gives them an excuse for a mini cliff hanger so you make a drink, to to the toilet or whatever and don't channel hop but if there wasnt a break in the show there wouldn't be a time for this short attention span mentality, also on quiz shows it gives the come back for the big money question, or the final round, the bbc just adds a boring bit you dont mind missing (the national lottery is a prime example actually just miss the show get the numbers from the website) not sure if sky movies has adverts in the movies/sports channels though or if they are shown all the way through

that's purely a be counted of greed; no longer satisfied with exhibiting an analogous garbage over and throughout back, which incorporates the +a million Ch, they have got here upon that the dumb British public will pay to observe commercials over and throughout back. i replaced into no longer informed with the help of Sky after I took out my equipment that basically about 1/2 of it would want to bypass to gazing Sky commercials which have higher in frequency over the years I ve had it . as a lot as now Sky replaced into my surely determination to gazing television, as there is not any terrestrial signal. there is an determination now so I m declaring see you later to Sky £countless numbers out of pocket , Terrestrial ITN might want to exist and practice more desirable proper programmes that Sky ever has executed on commercials on my own. Why can t Sky who in no way makes a programme for themselves no longer do an analogous. GREED is the answer.

Because the money you pay for service each month is divided amongst all the channels you receive. Some channels get a higher fee each month per subscriber (like 20p) versus some of the channels that only have 12 hours of programming and have a lot of commercials (they only get about 2p per subscriber).

Our TV license fee each year only goes to the BBC. So when you think about it, the Beeb gets 100P of your money each year and the other channels get a few pounds at the most. In order to subsidize the production costs and license fees, they have to air commercials. Sucks, but that's how it is.

I accept that they have breaks, I need time to go to the loo or to get a Pepsi etc, but why are they so long? I could pop down to the corner shop and still be back in time!
Mind with their news coverage it is a blessing. It is so banal that the advert breaks stop me falling asleep while I wait for real news to pop up!
Besides what company in its right mind isn't going to try and rake in as much money as possible?

I guess they need more money to change their name from SKY to PLUTO. I guess the SKY is no longer the limit since PLUTO is now vacant.
