Why are there those sort of people (including celebs and their wannabe's) that must have designer labels?! what is wrong with having a nice outfit from a highstreet shop?! and don't go on about treating yourself! i am talking about designer label addicts!!!!

Well I'm not a label addict or anything but I do like designer stuff and if I could afford it I would buy more!! I think the reason some people like them is the quality and the way they are made not necessarily for the label itself!! I agree though that some people do buy designer just because of who is wearing it in the media and who made it. There's nothing wrong with the high street though, I'm a topshop girl at heart!!

It's all about having what no one else can have, because they're all bound by a lack of money. Buying a designer outfit can make you feel glamorous and therefore allows you to act more confidently, especially if you have low self esteem regarding the way you look. Although theres usually very little difference between designer clothes and ones bought from the high street, some of the more expensive pieces of clothing are made to a higher quality, which some people value above the label itself.

Wearing designer labels is something that is exclusive, it sets you apart from anything you can find walking down the high street. Designer items are handmade and a lot of thought and care has been put into making them. Also ,when I wear designer clothes (which isnt all the time) I feel better in them and usually they are cut better than high street.
I am 5'3 and size 6 so find it hard to get well fitting clothes
You can get some good clothes on high street but for a special occasion is worth paying a bit more.

I'm not an addict, but I do buy designer, simply because of the quality of the garment, the cut and the fabric and the fact that many will provide a free tailoring service (I'm bloody short, and the trousers always need taking up!)
I strongly believe that 'labels' should remain inside the clothes and not splashed around on the front...to me that just seems a little low class.
But I don't knock high street shops... I love Mango and H&M too...but it is a case of you get what you pay for.... and with clothes, I say pay the most you can afford... whether that be a fiver or £5000...
But hey... I earn my own money, my bills are all paid... so why not?

If I can afford i would love to buy designers label because quality and time of life is longer than high street shop. But celebrities and other people might have different point of view...that could be status that they have to dress with great designers label or they won't talk about them...

It's all about Kudos. But some designer labels are better quality. Cheap crap - tends to be just that. But start your own website and have the URL printed on a label and sew them to all your clothes - that's cool. Something like www.nerds.com on the back of your jeans.

People like designer because it's better quality. A lot of people feel better about themselves when wearing a designer outift rather than something from Walmart. A lot of people think that people will think that they are cooler or more sophisticated. And some think that the designer stuff just looks better.

I'm no addict, perferring to mix my wardrobe with designer and high street. However, with some items you have to buy designer as the quality is so much better and it'll last you much longer.
I buy clothes on quality and style, rather than where they are from, designer or otherwise.

well wearing designer labels allows people to show everybody that they can afford it, makes them look classy.
in cases of high end designer especially handbags, they are homemade with the finest fabrics which allows them to last for years (my aunt had a gucci bag that lasted her 20+) and if they are ever damaged they can always go back to the store and have them repaired instead of constanly buying new ones

I buy clothes I like, not for the lable as for the label addicts, they are usually kids, or people with rich spouses where someone else pays for it.
