I was told that I would maybe bleed or have slight discharge for a few days maybe. Is sex safe? I have not had intercourse but I did let my boyfriend use his hands last night and I kinda bled like crazy. I am so embarrassed to call and tell a doctor this! Does anyone know anything?

Yeah, just wear pads, and let it heal, I did the same thing but I had SEX after being told not to. I admitted it to my Dr. and she said it's OK, Just let it heal and drip on the pad and no hanky panky for like a WEEK! If you are still worried you did some damage, you can go to the Dr. again. Bodies heal though.

You had a colposcopy. The doctor takes a small cone shaped tissue sample for biopsy, the cauterizes the area to seal the vessel endings so it won't bleed too much. The outcome is a bloody blister in the area with a smelly discharge for a few days. If it was more than 5 to 7 days since your procedure when you were with your boyfriend and this happened you need to see your doctor. Although the vagina secretes acids that kill many bacteria, someone's hands carry all kind of bacteria and you could get an infection.

I had a colposcopy done six years ago, along with a biopsy and I don't really remember much about the aftereffects. However, I do remember having my cervix frozen and having a LOT of discharge. (At one point, my husband asked me if I wet the bed because everything was wet around me and I was sleeping on a thick bath towel.)

I can also remember my doctor telling me no sex, swimming or baths for six weeks.

Take care...

He took biopsies, cutting into the cervix. You would have been better off having sex than letting him use his fingers. Let yourself heal now.

to vvvdickheadvvv.... (previous answerer)

a colonoscopy is when they look in your intestines
a colposcopy is when they look at your cervix and take a tissue sample
a pap (not pab) smear is when they swab the cervix for cells

just so you know.
