The main way that the world has changed since 9/11 is that the American Government has become more brazen in lying.
Since they got away with The Big Lie about 9/11, they feel that they can tell the gullible public any old story except the truth, while they meantime get on with their own private agenda which is designed to make themselves more rich and powerful, and sod the citizens.
The best way to overcome this problem is for the citizens to be provided with some truth, and therefore never again to vote for a bunch of liars.

The 2004 election was stolen by various means, including using electronic voting machines with rigged orograms

9/11was an inside job, The conspiracy theory outlined by the official 9/11 Commission report is so unbelievable that anyone reading must know that it is just a cover-up

My fraternity brother, Darren, is dead (killed in the Pentagon).
My buddy Jacob is dead (killed in Afghanistan).
My brother's friend, Jake, is dead (killed in Afghanistan).
It's not so much that I don't feel as safe, as that the threat is now more acknowledged. Our security measures aren't foolproof, but they have improved significantly.
There's a huge polarization among the populace, but I'm not sure if the issues surrounding 9/11 caused it, or if the polarization was already present (ie, the terse 2000 elections) and 9/11 dialogue is a means of expressing it.
Travel feels more limited - I had planned to travel with a buddy to Turkey for two weeks, but we changed our plans to Germany when 19 hell-bent idiots decided to pay for their beliefs with 3,000 other lives. I would love to continue studying Arabic and the beautiful muwahashah (a poetic style) in Morocco, but that's a pipe dream at this point. Still, it would have been a pipe dream anyway.
War has been redefined. You no longer need a missile or a B-2 to wage war; now, you only need fear. If you wanted to petrify the nation, have several terrorists posing as doctors simultaneously call in to CDC and several news agencies and "leak" that the government is trying to clamp down on a rash of cases of smallpox. Or set off three dozen small bombs in shopping malls, schools, etc - they don't even have to hurt anyone, just that there is a concerted effort would frighten the public substantially.
I'm an economist, and the biggest change I've seen relative to the economy is that government spending has returned to the Reagan days in a macro sense. It's not entirely a bad thing, and we can't fully compare the economies (for one, our economy has substantially liberalized financial markets compared to 25 years ago), but there's a different dynamic at play.

I think people have become a lot more suspicious of others since 9/11, terrorism seems to hold the front page of the papers more these days, tourism has its fits and starts of picking up and dropping off again, I don't think it really has had that much effect on finance, it hasn't and won't stop me travelling, as scary as it is you have to move on and get back to doing what you enjoy.

It's here now and no the world hasn't changed that much, if anything it has got a whole lot less safe to travel. My daughter's birthday is September the 11th and every year since 2001 she hates it because everyone remembers her birthday for the wrong reasons, except me of course.

9/11 was completely horrific, but it was the start of things to come.
Look at how that came out of the blue, no one expecting it, we will never know if our time is up. Gone just like that.
You shouldnt even feel safe in your own house now with all the "anthrax" they spout on about and people blowing up your aeroplane when you're off enjoying a weekend away.
The world is just going from bad to worse, and no one respects it.
If I was God (if there was one) I would just blow the whole place up and start again.

Well, sorry to say but I dont think that anything has changed. There are still sick people out there who are willing to kill thousands of inocent people and young children.
With living in Britain I always felt safer than my friends in the USA, but recently after the arrests of those people who were going to carry out their plane plot, I do feel at risk.
I dont think anywhere is safe.

Nothing has changed. The muslims are still killing and causing trouble in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australasia, the Pacific, Far East and the Americas.
