Yes but those who joke and I was one once will find that

a. They say it to the wrong person at the wrong time

b. It is actually them that becomes a victim of it. Possibly a form of Tourettes syndrome.

I have packed that sort of behaviour in and feel a lot better for doing so

I agree with you on this one. I remember some horrific jokes about 9/11, and I was completley disgusted by it. All I can say is, these people who make jokes like the ones I've heard, must never have lost a loved one under tragic circumstances, or at all. The Charlotte Church Show in the UK was apparently supposed to be making a Steve Irwin joke to be broadcast tonight, but the audience booed it and they cut it out.

I was going to ask this question. I have heard a few Steve Irwin jokes and i repeated them to my cousin who i thought would get a laugh out of them. But instead he cracked the S H I T S. (I dont find them funny) These jokes are gonna come out regardless. Some people dont like them some people can find a funny side to them. It just depends who you are.

Some of the jokes that come out, especially after Princess Diana's death (the unfortunate anagram of 'Lady Diana Spencer' which I'd rather not repeat in this question) are just beyond the pale. It is unacceptable to make jokes about such events.

Being from London, I find Kings Cross and Cannon Street diasters, 7/7 etc. related jokes, distasteful and unfunny.

nah i think your right on this one. im currently in training for a new job and the banter goes around a lot here. the steve irwin jokes are of bad taste as i really found the guy a great laugh and very enthusiastic about protecting wildlife etc etc. i dont think i have the capacity to laugh at such garbage as i wouldnt be laughing if it was someone i knew would i?

That has always been the case I remember the sickening jokes doing the round after 9/11. Now if people can joke at that then they can joke about anything

Guess it's a coping mechanism...twisted way of not wanting to face the truth and deal with it. Or they just want the attention...in some sort of strange way, it does take the focus off of the problem or event and makes you see the good in so many others and in life in general...
Because everyone is different, each needs a way to be reached and to understand. These type of people somehow make people think...

I know what you mean. THERE WAS A PICTORIAL JOKE ABOUT sTEVE iRWIN ON MY PC WITHIN HOURS Of........very sorry.....caps lock.........his death. Hours, mind.....

I don't like them either. Some would argue that people do it as a coping strategy. I'm not so sure. Mostly I just find it plain sick.

I think it's very sick, and only a sick mind could find jokes like that humorous.
