Yes. As some one who works for tips, they are our life blood. With the price of gas, most of these drivers barely make the lease payments for the cab. If you talk to your driver (I always do) I bet you'll find out they are going to school, have another job or are supporting their family. A 15-20% tip is the standard with $1 per bag should you have any luggage. If you don't feel you should tip him/her, do all drivers a favor and take public transportation.

Yes if you happy with the service. I was In Las Vegas and the driver was so rude he drove me up the strip 3 block and I tipped him a 5 and he started yelling at me saying this all you gonna give me blah blah I wanted to rip that five right out of his hand

Yes, you should tip a cab driver if he/she is polite and takes you where you want to go. I usually tip 15%-20%. If the driver helps me with luggage, I add on another $1 per bag.

Yes it is customary to tip cab drivers but a tip is not mandatory. Tip only if you get good service. And don't feel pressured to tip if you really can't afford it. 15% is the norm. But it's your money. Its a gift. You can tip a dollar or your can tip ten dollars. It's up to you.
