life with a disability in the USA is much better than living with a disability in other countries. We have the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) which helps protect disabled Americans when they are working, shopping or attending public events.

Also, there has been an increased awareness of disabilities and how to deal with them.

Life is different because a person with a disability has to adjust...but the world around them should adjust too and that doesent always happen, but it's getting better. Much better than it used to be.

There is a wide variety of disabilities in this country. We have autistics, which I have an 8 year old d aughter who has this plus seizure activity of the brain. I find the schools are mainly interested in getting the extra money out of her being in school more than they are interested in her getting anything of an education. My husband has a differenttype of disabiklty, he had an on the job injury and can no longer work, but is now having to fight to get his income that he paid into .He also has to deal with alot of people looking down on him. His injury by the way is now 6 herniated discs in his back, constant pein and losing the feeling in is right kleg occassionaly. Having a disablility is anything but equal in this country but I supose it is probably better here than in alot of places. Life is hard with a disability for most people due to the unfairness. How can you say a person with a disability is a whiner you are part of the problem not the solution.

The first answer is a good one and the second is from a whiner... typical ego-texan!

They do have to adjust! They get preference for hiring, are difficult to fire and can get away with a lot more stuff... just like every other minority group in this country. So the #2 answer person should shut up, suck it up and deal with their problems just like everyone else in this country should!

And #4 answer... give me a freakin break! God did not give people disabilities... nature did in one way or another!

Quit whining and start winning!

The first answer is from someone who obviously doesnt have one.

Life with a disability is hard, no matter where you live. It doesn't enhance your life in anyway, it doesnt turn you into a better person.
It just causes you to either learn to live with difficulty or to give up, plain and simple.
