Candy cigarettes. I remember far too many times getting them from the local gas station that my parents got their real cigarettes from. This I believe led to me wanting to try smoking in the first place. But I'm not one of the people who complain about it. I enjoy smoking, but I do it only in my own home so that other people don't have to put up with my bad habit.

I used to be a smoker, I recently quit.

I started because I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I was a junior in High School and happend to be at the bowling alley with a friend that smoked. I was interested to see what it tasted like, felt like and what not. My friend tried to tell me not to but I took one and lit it up. I didn't cough and it didn't taste that bad to me, so I kept doing it. Fast foward to my freshman year of college, I was smoking for a few years now and became a chain smoker. Fast foward to now and I finally quit!

I wish I never wondered about it and just didn't do it, but I was curious. At least I don't do it anymore so now I don't spend all that money.

started at 15 quit at 32, it is a nasty habit for sure.. I started not with cigarettes but with swisher sweet cigars and pipe tobacco. sneaking a toke from my granddad's pipe on the farm. I graduated to Marlboro methol, and snuck them until I went into college. Then I went to Salem Lights.

Cigarette became an association with every behavior, drinking, studying, driving..

When it came time to quit is was because I was starting a new job with a non-smoking policy. (Back in the 80s people could smoke in their workplace!) That was 89.. I quit for 15 years, during a divorce I picked up little cigars again. Still trying to kick nicotine in the form of chew. Haven't smoked a dog turd for a couple of years, but stress of the divorce a spouse that went AC/DC and put the kids in the proximity of here dyke lover made me say phuck it. Things have settled down, but still trying to kick the chew.

Nicotine is physiologically as addictive as crack, or meth.
If you don't do it, don't start..

My dad smoked and he just left them around the house. I got curious. I didn't become a major smoker until highschool, and then it was peer pressure. I would pay good money to hop in a time machine, go back, and b*tch slap myself for smoking with the other kids just to look cool.

I started at age 12, back in 1991 it looked COOL (yeah right). Now I have a cough from hell, it stinks, tastes bad, is killing everyone I smoke around... there's nothing positive that comes from smoking!!!

I just wanted to try it. And now I enjoy having a smoke on the way to work to relax and get ready for a full day at the office... I also like one on the way home... To unwind... So while I'm not a 1-2 pack-a-gal... I do smoke, and know its bad for me, but hey why not....
