...so why did you think you could change the rules to improve it? Have you not noticed how the NFL is the only pro football league and that it is more popular than your stupid CFL even in your own country? Get it right and go by the original rules.

I don't believe the crap that the gray cup is 90 years old. I know it has only been around since the 1990's. It doesn't have the history that the Super Bowl and the NFL has.

I wouldn't call the CFL stupid, it's just vastly inferior in quality to the NFL. If it was better, the best players would go up there and not use the CFL as a last-resort after they are cut from NFL teams. It's a nice primer in the summer to get you ready for good football.

It's not an either/or thing. I like both! What's your hangup?
Hell, the CFL has been around longer than the NFL, dude, so who copied who?
As far as rule changes, I like both--CFL is way more wide open and high scoring but lacks the killer consistent hits. NFL has its strong pts too and bad (I mean, your QBs mostly suck! No Fun League banning any sort of end zone celebrations, too much hype over crap matchups and prima donna stars plus too many bad teams.)
The NFL is the only pro football league? Guess NFL Europe and your Arena Football Leagues are all amateurs? Or are you claiming the NFL is the best. Fine, I can go along with that given the TV ratings.
Maybe the NFL is more popular but a recent MacLean's magazine (think TIME or Newsweek for ref.) poll showed the CFL was the most popular league among Canadians.
The original rules of pro football are long gone. The NFL has changed so many rules over the years it hardly resembles the game the Cantron Bulldogs played.
I don't necessarily believe George W. is an idiot despite evidence to the contrary either, but the Grey Cup has been around since 1909. Go check the link.

I have no clue why belittling another league makes your better. Are you thaht insecure? All I know you can count the number of good Uber Bore games on one hand since Uber Bore I whereas the Grey Cup is 99% of the time a really terrific game to finish the season.

I see a couple previous have mentioned the no fair catch rule but, the you would need to combine that with the no yards rule to give the receiver of the kick a chance...the XFL tried that with their "Halo" rule. However, truly I think that the NFL should allow offensive backfield motion like the CFL. I would say it is similar to how the Arena Football League does it. Other than the linemen, anyone can be moving any direction. This makes the game much more open as the receivers could be at full speed at the line of scrimmage as the ball is snapped...if they time it right.

1. the Grey Cup has been around since 1909. Super bowl, 1967.
2. Harvard U. stole everything from Canadian football & English rugby and implemented it into redneck (american) football in the late 1800's.
3. CFL is second in popularity in Canada, next to hockey.
4. The super bowl & nfl in general has become so corporate that the games are now fixed for teams to win. (hence super bowl xl).

Don't be jealous of the CFL because you know for a fact that it is better.

You are out of your mind. The Grey not gray cup has been a part of Canadian Since before the first world war. There are entertaining games here bud. I am a diehard Oakland Raider fan and I played the game the way they do. No holds barred. Don't be so biased about something you know nothing about

I dunno. I know my team's been around for 76 years.Community likes them.Good guys. Go to hospitals and visit sick kids and stuff. The three down football means a lot of passing so there is a lot of big plays. It's entertaining and they play in the summer. There are only 8 teams in the league.Lots of rivalries with fighting and stuff not unusual.
In any event Canadian Football League is useful to the NFL the way it is and they don't want to change it.

Americans, again thinking they are better than everyone else, haven't that attitude gotten you guys in enough trouble? Close your mouth and go to school (actually pay attention and learn something useful) and maybe you can dig youself out of the hole you've dug yourself into.

Football is actually a sport using the foot (soccer) and it's the Grey cup

Leave them alone with their Canadian football.

They have every right to play the sport as they see fit.

Who cares?

Watch the sports that YOU enjoy, and leave others to their own preferences!

Who said they have to seek your approval, anyway??

"Get it right and go by the original rules."

-CFL has been around longer than the NFL.
-The only reason the NFL is more popular in Canada is because the NFL teams have more money to spend and therfore have better wuality players than the CFL.
