In relation to the transmission the belt is on the other side of the world, but if the engine and tranny is out and you have over 75K on the engine it is worth it. I would recomend it to one of my customers. I am amazed he hasn't..

Anything is possible, The mechanic will just have to work in the front of the engine after he is done with the clutch at the back of the engine. You will probably be charged for both time rates separately and then combined in the bill. It will cost you more, but, if the belt where to break in the future, cost you many times more to fix the engine. That would cost you valves, pistons, rings, etc. Very expensive.

yes, it is possible, the timing belt doesn't have anything to do really with the transmission. While he is in there taking the tranny apart he might as well. I don't know much about mercedes' engines, but a timing belt is kind of a pain in the ***...so will probably cost a fair bit.

No, depending on how many miles are on the car the timing belt should not have to be replaced till about 80,000 miles

Merceds Benz engines do not have timing belts. and no they are not close to or related to the transmission
