There are these things available in the makeup aisle that are little thin sheets of tissue paper. I think they are called blotting papers. They can be used to blot excess shine away, even if you are wearing makeup. Also Mary Kay has a product called oil mattifier and I know it really works because I have used it for years. It can be applied under or over makeup and it lasts for hours! Similar products are probably available from other companies.

No alcohol! Rubbing alcohol will make your problem worse.
Use a little Clearasil or some other benzoyl peroxide product to help rid your snhoz of excess oil. Clean and Clear has oil blotting papers.

I sell the body shop products, and we have Matte it face and lips and its our secret against shine. Its a very small tube, clear, and gel looking...and you rub a drop on your nose, forehead, and it takes the shine away...Its awesome. i love it..Its 12.50 and u only use a little drop....Instead of clogging your pores with powder, or foundations try the matte it....

whenever you go to the restroom, use the non-shining side of the toilet seat cover, press on your nose. It absorts the oil like those cosmetic paper. Sounds weird but it works!
Also, eat less greasy food...
