And whoever gave the answer basil brush is an idiot. and yes, George Lazenby was Australian. and so is Juliam Mcmahon, so... who cares. New question: Who's fed up with people giving stupid answers like 'basil brush'?

I haven't the slightest idea who Steven Hartley is and to the best of my knowledge, Julian McMahon is American. A British actor has always been used (or was George Lazenby Australian?).

I thought Clive Owen would be perfect for the part. Still, despite the blonde hair, Daniel Craig seems to have effective Bond potential. Both he and Owen definitely would bring back the Connery approach to the series.

I don't understand all the hoopla over Craig's hair. Seriously, if it was that important that Bond has dark hair, there's this strange thing called 'hair dye'. Obviously, nobody making the movie wanted to invest in it. So, we'll have a Bond that doesn't have the dark hair depicted in the books. Hell, Roger Moore was only a shade or two away from dark blonde (or very light brown).

Yeah Christian Bale, great choice, he's brilliant. Julian McMahon is a good choice too. There was a guy that did a comedy series called Game On a few years ago called Ben Chaplin who I think would be good. I was so glad that they didn't choose Clive Owen as I think he is the worst actor around today and I can't believe he has starred in so many big films! There's a fit guy that was in Casualty or Holby City and also in Natalie Imbruglia's first video 'Torn' who I think would be good, don't know his name though!

okay, Pierce Brosnan is Irish, as in republic of Ireland which hasn't been a part of britian since 1922,.
and yes, George Lazenby was Australian.
personally I'd love to see Clive Owen in the role, I am a fan of Gerard Butler, but personally believe that any role where he has to lose that beautiful scottish accent should be considered a criminal offence.

Excuse me while I wipe the drool of my keyboard thinking of Christian Bale as the next James Bond.
And, as an additional comment about the actors playing Bond are British, remember Connery I believe is Scottish and Bronsan is Irish.

Think that Clive Owen would've been a good one, but am sure that Daniel Craig will do fine
