Terrorists?

Question

I hear people complaining about the government and homeland security all the time. How they are not doing their job. I do not hear anyone giving any solutions to the problem?? WELL, if you was the President of the United States, what steps would you do to insure the safety of the people. What authority would you give homeland security and how would you track the terrorist?

IEnterrador, I know I am not the president or on any form of government. What I want to know is what would you do if you were president. I do not think of me as being a super smart person, I am just average. I figure if people get on line and complain and write about how the president is evile and how bad his actions and policys are, they must have an ideal of what to do. I learned from the last post I replied to not to wear my feelings on my shirt sleeve so you comment does not bother me, but if you have an answer to the problem, lets hear it.

I think that some of the people in other countries are
againts us because we have freedom and things they do not have. It is true we are a super power, but so is Englind and Russia. We take some things for grantid that other people in their country wish they had. We have free school, if soeone is unable to work or has kids, we have food stamps or AFDC, while other countries have kids that go hungry and do not know what food stamps is. If I had my way, no child would go hungry. Now in my way of thinking, that is no excuse to be a terrorist, but that is one of the excuses they give. If my neighbor has more monie then I do, I am not going to blow up his house or hurt him because he has more then I do. At the same time, if my neighbor is hungry and needs food, I would try to help him get some food. Religan plays a big factor as well.

I for one do not see a problem with the government tapping the phone lines of terrorist. They dont listen to domestic calls, they are listening to calls coming from known terrorist from other countries calling into the United States. From what I understand, it has already prevented a terrorist attack. I like my freedom just like the next person, but I like my safety too. I
think if it will stop a terrorist attack then it should be done. What value do you put on human life?

above average you are stupid. people attack us b/c we are the last remaining superpower. American influence is felt all over the world and some naions hate us for that.

Really, I don't think I could do anything better than what the PRes and Homeland security are already doing...

I agree that some liberties should be allowed to protect the US from Terrorim.. Terrorist don't follow laws, and sometimes to catch a criminal u have to somewhat become one.

i ask the people to be more friendly to each other.ask the home land security to be more people friendly attitude. and would turn the foreign policy of america from a military leader to a friend of humanity.i would pressure than this robinhood style war around the world.and correct all the mistak to get world support.

The president has to involve congress in all decisions. I am sure he wishes he could make his own quick decisions and put policys in place right away. Not an easy job he has.

Withdraw from Iraq and disassociate myself with Bush. Then give huge support to the UN to try and stop the civil war there.

Withdraw unilateral support for Israel, and being by criticising their treatment of the Palestinian people like animals.

There we go. That'd be 90% of the terrorists (Islamic ones anyway) placated.

Its easy to call the rest of the world terrorists and terror your own people with fear.
If someone can only be president thanks to terrorism that what qualities does he have?
Just look in your own mirror and leave the world in peace, be nice to people and they be nice to you.
Attack people and suppress them, manipulate them and they attack back.

we are humans so there are some who will always find faults with even the best of ideas
so the critism is not going to stop even if evrything we want is being done

Why would they give you a solution, are you in office, are you a representative of the state, do you hold a seat in congress or are you the president, they don't owe you a solution. How do you know they havent wrote their congressman already?
