I had the same problem.
Then a new product came out.
the battery powered razor Gillette M3 Power
I thought it was a gimmick, but it actually works and I will not use anything else.

I used to nick myself every time I shave,
Now I may nick myself once a month or less so far I've gone 6 weeks without a nick.
Also I realized, I can go longer on a single cartridge.

Go to your local pharmacy or Wal-Mart and look in the shaving isle for a steptic stick. They are white and when nicked just wet the tip and apply directly to the cut. It is made to stop the bleed from razor nicks.

There's something called a styptic. It stops the bleeding immediately. My father had one and later I bought one for my son here in Switzerland. I'll see if I can find it on the Internet and get back to you.
Internet only gives purchasing addresses. I'm sure you can find it at your local pharmacy/chemists. Ask for a styptic pencil.

Don't shave. But seriously, try the new Wilkinson, the commercial I saw claims you get your money back if you cut yourself shaving with it.

(I use Gillette Mach3 Turbo myself though)

a styptic pencil! You get them from mens barbers - they look like a small hard lipstick, you moisten the end and dab on the nick, stops it instantly! I mean instantly.
