At the moment, i would just like to go out with him on a romantic level - not a "just friends" level.
When we talk, and something that implies that i like him or he likes me comes up, we both just laugh it off...
Also, my friend asked him if he has feelings for me - his reaction is hard to understand because we cant tell if he was being serious or patronising;
he laughed (seemed kind of fake) and then said yes (might be sarcasm), but we dont know whether he was just trying to hide his real feelings or if he was joking.
What else can i do to find out? What signs should i look for? And what do you think?

Your best bet is to ask him right out, if he tries to laugh it off tell him you're being serious. Tell him your feelings for him but if he's not interested or is sarcastic/patronising..etc towards you then he isn't worth it.

I don't think you will find out if he has feelings or not, and whether or not they are real, until you have been out with him and spent some time with him - the old adage about "spend some time getting to know him". He may well have feelings, but they may be less to do with romance and love and be more base in nature, e.g. sex.
Ask him when he was last in a serious relationship and why it ended - it should give you some insights into him.
As for my thoughts (about him) - there is not enough to go on.

Is it achieveable which you would be able to strengthen to love him once you comprehend him? If particularly no then take him aside after college or for the time of ruin someplace quiet and say that he looks like certainly one of those great guy yet you may particularly boost a friendship than a dating with him. in case you do actual like somebody else point out that your emotions are already someplace else and supply him a friendly hug. Be honest with him and ask him if he wants to move to the next level. Which, does not have to be marriage, but dating. Did he say yes more than once? People don't say things like that (even joking) if they don't mean it. Just ask him "Are you seriously having feelings for me?, because I am for you and if it's not mutual I need to know." Doesn't mean you have to marry him. Go ahead take a chance on getting to know someone.

when you see him if he seems really happy to see you and he always tries to move closer then hes interested in you. if he makes a fool of himself in front of you then it means he is comfortable with you and he doesn't care whether you think he's stupid or cool. if you are that desperate then just ask him seriously don't laugh at it or joke just say it in a serious way

i totally think you should ask him... i do not koow how else to do it. you already got your friends to ask him, maybe he does like you but does not want to ruin the friendship... but if both of you tip toe around the subject, what good it that? time waisted!
