I had to wait today whilst the till operator wasted MY time wrongly entering a 4 number code, which she was told twice by a colleague and still got wrong, to void an item. That's my time not hers being wasted - she'd still be there, getting paid whatever she was doing. Ok so there's nothing that can be done about THAT - but what about these people in queues who react with shock when asked for payment and ONLY THEN look in their purses/wallets/pockets for money (or worse, credit cards) or who pack their shopping THEN pay afterwards - hang on, there's a queue here!

I forgot to mention those evil people who have more than 10 items in a "10 items or less" isle - how terrible are they?!

I think you need to take a deep breath and calm down. In the last case scenario you would still have to wait while they packed their shopping even if they had paid first, or else get your shopping mixed with theirs. The checkout cashiers always whizz things through far to quickly for me to catch up and I end up getting flustered when I am surrounded by shopping needing to be packed and they have their hands out waiting to be paid. Now I think 'Stuff that' and I take the time to pack everything and don't have the stress. Folk who cut queues piss me off much more than my waiting patiently in one. I would always tell them to take their turn.

Brits love queueing - don't they?

Everywhere you look there are queues. If three people stood in line in the middle of nowhere, another would be sure to join them. After about half an hour, they _might_ ask "what is this queue for?".

u think that is bad?

you shd come to my country! it is a queuing culture here! if there aint a queue, it is not worth having!!!

imagine this, we queue up for food, for a chance to see a star, for free things, for a chance to get a free thing, and some even join queues before finding out what the queues are for!

I hear you. My time is quite valuable to me. I had to wait over an hour for the doctor yesterday and when I took my son for his bloodwork we had to wait almost an hour and a half. That's over two hours gone out of my already busy day. By the time we were done, I had just enough time to go home and get dinner before heading out to work.

people who waste the time of impatient people should be force fed bleach and battery acid, then shot with harpoons.

maybe a little harsh, i know, but would set a good example for other sloths who dawdle around in a little world of their own.

Can we have a debate about the ignorant f***s who drive in the outside lane of the motorway at 68mph and dont overtake anything for miles and miles?

Wasting time in queues is more fun than wasting time at the computer.
