I apply sunscreen but doesn't work because I don't have the time to apply sunscreen every 3 hours. I DON'T need the tan. I am already pretty dark.

Maybe try a higher number sunscreen or sunblock.
If you're only using a 30 try upping it to a 50. And look for a long lasting formula.
I would be more concerned if I was getting burned in the sun rather than just darker.
People sit in the sun for hours on end, subjecting themselves to skin cancer later in life just to have your 'problem'

Hey don't knock it. Your body has a natural defense against the UV rays of the sun. Melanin is the body's natural defense. When exposed to the sun it comes to the surface of the skin to protect you from the rays. It's kind of like those glasses that darken when you go out in the sun and then becomes clear when out of the sun. Your defense mechanism is working great. Just as sweat is the body's natural cooling system. Your body is working great. There's no way to prevent the tan unless you wear long sleeves and long pants. Be thankful for the great defense system your body has.

use a sunblock with a higher SPF. 1 SPF equals 20 min protection in the sun. so calculate the right sun protection factor depnding on how long u plan to stay out.

also dont apply the sunblock right before u step out of the house. apply it 15-20 min in advance atleast.
