I just asked a similar Q
I haven't been in awhile because it was all blacks and my date was harassed in the bathroom.
But I miss it and I have been looking for different ones on http://www.drive-ins.com and I think I may travel farther to find a nice one.
The movie's great if you can keep the windows from fogging up.

It has been since the early 80's since I have been to one. Just sitting in the car watching a good movie. Listening to the movie through that little box that was attached to the car window. Going to the refreshment stand to to get popcorn and a Coke, since they didn't have Pepsi. The last movie I saw there was Raiders of the Lost Ark, it was already about a year old when we saw it, but who cared. Now to see that movie on TV is not the same. It was a great experience to see it on that big screen.

Double-features used to pair movies togther like (I'm not making this up) Cinderella with Deathwish, Terms of Endearment with Uncommon Valour, Dr. Doolittle with Dirty Harry...
My dad used to hide my brother and I under blankets in the back of the stationwagon so he wouldn't have to pay the extra quarter or whatever it was...and remember how you used to have to walk a quarter mile to the snackbar, past all the sneering hoodlums (in their Led Zepplin shirts, large plastic combs in their backpockets, trying to look tough with their male version of Farrah Fawcett hair-do's)...
...and when I grew up to be a teenaged creep, I fumbled around with a few girls in the backseats of their dad's Oldsmobiles while some "Brat Pack" film played on the giant screen...
Now I just rent from Netflix and wind up keeping the DVDs for a month because I rarely have enough free time to watch an entire movie...

I love drive-ins!!! It is the best thing in the whole world!! I still go now and then. There is one about an hour from me. Those wonderful nights where you are just sitting in the car, watching the movie, relaxed and comfy.. with the one you want right next to you... good times... good times...

I went to the drive-in all the time when I was younger and even in my teens. There was a drive-in still in operation in Middlesex, MD. and I went there to watch the movies that was no longer playing at the movie theaters just because I loved that experience so much.

There's one drive-in left in Louisville and I haven't been there in years. Yes, I do remember going to the drive-in as a kid. I remember people sitting on their station wagon tailgates. I also remember the brown paper bag filled with goodies.

Yes, I loved them. We had one right down the street, and me and my friends would walk over there and sit on a little hill and watch the movie for free. Brought our own drinks, popcorn and candy. We couldn't hear anything from that distance though.

My parents used to take when us when we were little. I also remember going a few times when I was teenager growing up in the late 70's/early 80's, but those days are long gone.
