Get drunk - it doesn't solve anything, it doesn't make you feel any better, but on some level it will make you feel better because you are trying something to cure the misery.

On another note: I don't think you can be sacked for saying that you want to move to Australia, can you? I'm sure that must be unfair dismissal.
Edit: having read the post above mine, which agrees with the unfair dismissal, talking to the Citizens' Advice Bureau is a very good idea. They can give you advice on your rights. You might want to take a copy of your contract so that they can check what it says on dismissal/discipline procedures.

Isn't reading one of your personal emails an invasion of privacy, how long have you been with the company you work for, surely they can't just sack you for that, go get one of those free half hour solicitor visits and see if you have a case for unfair dismissal, seems more than unfair to me and out of order too, get your CV on one of those Internet places and see if you get a job offer from there, go round a few agencies or pop to the job centre, maybe fate is telling you it is time to go back to Australia, don't beat yourself up over this setback, somethings are just meant to be, but just try and make that appointment OK.

While you've been sacked you're not in any safety zone; this means you are free to try new things. Is there a career you've always had in the back of your mind....cabin crew...photographer...fitness intructor. Maybe you could look around for something new and different - like a training scheme or a job that trains while you earn - may start off with low pay.. but the rewards will show having a career that you really enjoy!

If it is unfair dismissal depends on how long you have been in the job. However I did my dissertation for my law degree on unfair dismissal what you say does not sound like the whole story. I would suggest that the email (there is also the question of why you are sending private e mails on the firms computer) was just an excuse and the real reason is deeper and not so easy to quantify

Extasy usually cures any lingering misery, but beware it can also turn your brain into a water soaking sponge that can grow so big your eyes will pop out !!!!! Lifes a gamble kid
Strange how good things that make you feel great are always really bad as well ?? !!! Driving too fast, drinking too much, smoking, fatty foods, chocolate, drugs, and even falling in love can leave you with your heart ripped out and your life in tatters. So dont sweat about the job, be concerned about the good things in life, for the devil probably gave them to us, god just gave us Belgium and soda bread ;-)

Funnily enough, I got sacked on Monday (or at least paid to go away). The answer is to get a better job and one that you like sufficiently enough to not perform below par (that's what my my problem was at least - I can't stand the job). And get lots of physical activity and socialising under your belt. Keep that confidence up!

Looking at your case, it does look like unfair dismissal - go to a C.A.B. or equivalent, really. Saying that you 'might go back to Oz' is simply not grounds for dismissal. At the very least you'll be able to make them look stupid - which is a buzz.

Go to Australia. Return quickly. Apply for another job. Don't send personal e-mails from your work.

For a start people shouldnt be looking at your private stuff, they should be sacked, but also you cant get the sack for just doing that its not right, get some legal advice and throw it back in there face.

Get drunk.

On Monday start looking for a new job.

Good Luck
