You are using a Router in your home. People outside your LAN can't see the files if you are using the appropriate firewalls and security measures. The accounts should be using a password, and shared folders should give specific permission to each account.

You can get a simple wireless board-band router at around S$80 - S$100.

You can wired it up, or use wireless networking. Only thing that you need to remember to secure your wireless network if you are on wireless.

You can buy a SMC wireless board-band router and visit the service centre for a free config and tech support.

you can use either a hub which will cost cheap and need some technical assistance....

For ease of use .... you can take a wireless router or a wired router in which you can connect up 4 comps on wireless and 4 comps using hard wired.

Good Day.

You need to get a broadband wireless router, or call 1-800-GEEK SQUAD. . . they may charge you a couple of hundred dollars to come out and hook it up, but it's well worth it, because they will secure your wireless network. and it's 99% secured. . .A hacker can get in it, but it will take alot of time to do it.
