Unfortunately, this could be caused by any number of things. Hard to diagnose by the information given. Since it is a brand new computer, it should be under warranty. I would recommend calling the number for the technical support, and have them guide you through solving the issue.

Hope this helps!

This may be caused by an overload of programs like games and bearshare, these programs take up a lot of space, especially the games and maybe the computer can't keep on working its best with so many programs on its hard drive. Try deleting programs that you think it's not neccesary to keep.

Well, at first what i can say is:

Use your SYSTEM RESTORE to roll back in the position when your PC was properly functioning. This tip may be useful for both type of PC whether it's ASSEMBLED or BRANDED VERSION.

SYSTEM RESTORING:

1> Goto START(menu)>ALL PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS>SYSTEM RESTORE (click on)

2>Then you may see SYSTEM RESTORE. Click on the "RADIO button" of "Restore my computer to an earlier time".

3>click on NEXT.

4>Now, choose the DATE from the calender to find when your PC worked well for the last time. On the right hand side, choose the corresponding RESTORE POINT.

(N.B. : Make sure your PC had worked properly on that RESTORE POINT date and time.)

5>click on NEXT.

6>Then, your PC automatically RESTARTS. If not, restart your PC.

7>See if your PC successfully completes the SYSTEM RESTORE after the boot.

8>SYSTEM RESTORE done successfully may finally resolve your problem.

I guess this tip is helpful to you, somehow.

cheers,
masahiro

What brand is it? Being brand new, don't fool with it or change anything, call the number for tech help from the mfg.

Anything you do may void the warranty. All new computers should have at least a 1 year warranty.

It is not YOUR problem until it is out of warranty.

get the following programs
install and run them all

AVG www.grisoft.com (antivirus)
REGVAC (google search it) (registry cleaner)
zonealarm www.zonealarm.com (firewall)
spysweeper (google search it) (deletes spyware)
adaware www.adaware.com (deletes adware and some popups)

having a smooth running operating system MAY help your pc run much more efficiently.

if ALL of the above doesnt fix your issue, I would do a restore from the manufacturers cd.

save all your data first, (word docs, pics, etc).

some thing might have been broken or jostled out of place for the time of transit. examine all of the ram chips and make specific the CPU did no longer get out of place. You moved the computer and it began to freeze up. some thing from the circulate needless to say led to the wear and tear.

It sounds like you have a virus or spyware..... Try downloading a program called Xoftspy, works like a bomb!!! Alternatively, go to start, run... type in CMD "Enter", then type in chkdsk /f ..... when u reboot ur machine it will try run a checkdisk and will repair most problems...... AS A LAST RESORT!!!!!! Format and re install your OS....
